Professional Biography
Prof. Dr. Rezwanur Rahman is a distinguished nephrologist, academic leader, and interventional specialist in Bangladesh. He currently serves as the Professor and Head of the Department of Nephrology at Bangladesh Medical College & Hospital following his promotion to Professor in 2026.
With extensive clinical, academic, and interventional expertise, he has established himself as a leading figure in kidney care, particularly in renal transplantation and long-term kidney disease management.
He completed his MBBS from Dhaka University in 2007 and began his nephrology training at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in 2010. He obtained his MD in Nephrology in 2015 and joined Bangladesh Medical College & Hospital the same year as an Assistant Professor.
Clinical Expertise & Contributions
Prof. Rahman has extensive experience in renal transplantation and has actively managed over 800 kidney transplant cases as a core member of a transplant team.
Currently, more than 1000 kidney transplant recipients remain under his long-term follow-up care.
