Dr Rezwanur Rahman was born in February in 1984. He is currently working as Head of Nephrology Dept. in Bangladesh Medical College & Hospital. He obtained MBBS degree from Dhaka University in 2007. He started his career in Nephrology by joining in Nephrology Department, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) as Resident in 2010 & completed MD (Nephrology) in 2015. He joined as Assistant Professor of Nephrology in Bangladesh Medical College & Hospital in 2015 and promoted as Associate Professor of Nephrology in 2019. He is also working as a Consultant Nephrologist in Center for Kidney Disease & Urology Hospital since 2015. He is an active member of Kidney Transplant Team at CKDU Hospital. As a member of the transplant team, he managed over 800 transplant cases. He is also a member of International Society of Nephrology (ISN), American Society of Nephrology (ASN), European Renal Association (ERA) and Bangladesh Renal Association (BRA). He has 6 publications in reputed national and international journals.

He has keen interest in intervention nephrology. He has performed over 1000 kidney biopsy, 50 plus transplant kidney biopsy, numerous permanent catheterizations and CAPD.

Glomerulonephritis is Dr Rahman’s another area of interest. He follows up a large of patient with glomerulonephritis and provide treatment following international guidelines. He along with colleagues runs GN clinic at Bangladesh Medical College Hospital. Dr Rahman is always attentive in management of diabetic nephropathy and various genetic kidney diseases.

Dr Rezwanur Rahman developed special experience in the field of renal transplantation. He provides medical help in pre transplant patient and donor preparation, post-transplant patient management including all complications. He started transplantation at CKDU hospital   by De sensitization protocol for those patients with persistent HLA cross match positive. In near future his team is planning to start ABO incompatible transplant.

As part of social responsibility, Dr Rezwanur Rahman and his team is voluntarily participating in various medical camps and using through social media to aware people regarding kidney disease and its prevention.
